Football players went to wrong residence
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Police say seven Lehigh University football players have been charged in an off-campus break-in meant as revenge, but they targeted the wrong northeastern Pennsylvania home.
Bethlehem police say two men in the house used a university football roster to identify the suspects in the Nov. 8 intrusion.
They told police the men kicked in the doors as they slept and one was punched in the face.
Six were charged Wednesday with criminal trespass. A seventh player is accused of punching the man. He was charged in November with simple assault.
Police say the group was seeking revenge for an alleged attack on a fraternity president.
Messages seeking comment from a university spokeswoman and lawyers for three of the players weren’t returned Thursday. Online court records didn’t list lawyers for the others.

Head of Russia’s anti-doping agency resigns
MOSCOW — The Russian Sports Ministry says the head of the country’s anti-doping agency has resigned.
RUSADA director general Ramil Khabriev leaves less than a month after the agency was suspended following the publication of a World Anti-Doping Agency commission report which accused it of covering up doping by Russian athletes.
The ministry says Khabriev’s resignation was accepted today at a meeting of RUSADA’s founders, which are Russian sports bodies and government-backed organizations.
Khabriev’s departure comes during a visit by a WADA delegation tasked with ensuring drug testing continues during RUSADA’s suspension. British experts from the UK Anti-Doping Agency have also been asked to assist WADA in setting up a new testing system for Russian sports.

Donaldson leads golf’s Thailand Championship by 3
CHONBURI, Thailand — Jamie Donaldson of Wales enjoyed a sizzling opening round of 9-under-par 63 to take a three-stroke lead over three players including 2013 winner Sergio Garcia in the Thailand Championship today.
Donaldson, who hasn’t won in 16 months, birdied his first four holes and the last two at Amata Spring Country Club, and said, “I couldn’t really do things wrong.
“I never really missed any fairways. The good par save on nine was the key to keep the momentum going after pushing the tee shot a little bit. I got up and down there from about 20 feet.”
Garcia, who lifted his 23rd career title in Vietnam last weekend, and locals Chinnarat Phadungsilp and Chanat Sakulpolphaisan were at 6 under.
Garcia was on par after his second bogey on the 10th hole, then reeled off six birdies over the last eight holes.
“It was a wonderful back nine,” he said.
Chinnarat spoiled his round with a double bogey on the 15th hole, while Chanat bogeyed the 16th.
Martin Kaymer, who lost to Lee Westwood by one shot 12 months ago, shot a bogey-free 68 to lie five behind Donaldson, while Westwood began with a 1-under 71, as did Bubba Waston, who won the World Challenge in the Bahamas last weekend.
Nathan Holman, who won his home Australian PGA title last week, carded a par 72.
