St. Mary wins in a rout

St. Mary Pony 13-year-old All-Stars run-ruled CAYSI, a team of Carencro All-Stars, 14-0, in five innings Monday at the Pony 13 & Under Super Region Tournament.
Lucas Hatch led St. Mary at the plate and also pitched in relief.
Offensively, he finished 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
On the mound, he pitched two innings and surrendered no runs or hits, one walk and fanned four.
Ian Valdez earned the win for St. Mary. In three innings, he surrendered no runs on three hits with six strikeouts.
Other offensive contributors for St. Mary included Seth Giroir, 2-for-4, a double, two RBIs and a run; Brad Beaubouef, 1-for-2, a double, three RBIs and a run; Barrett Hover, 1-for-2, a run and a stolen base; and Cruz Crawford and Abram Gilder, each 1-for-1 with a run scored.
St. Mary will return to action today at 8 p.m. when it meets BBYA, a team comprised of Broussard/Youngsville All-Stars. BBYA received a first-round bye.
