St. Mary Parish's Most Wanted -- Suspect wanted for attempted first-degree murder

MORGAN CITY, La. -- One of the newest additions to St. Mary Parish’s Most Wanted list is an 18-year-old Morgan City man wanted for attempted first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery stemming from a June 14 incident in Amelia.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff

Joseph Aaron Cagnolatti, 18, also known as “J,” is wanted on a warrant for attempted first degree murder and attempted armed robbery with a firearm. His last known address is Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. Cagnolatti is the third suspect in a shooting and attempted armed robbery that occurred in the Amelia area in June, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

The shooting occurred outside of a lounge on La. 182 near the Greenwood overpass. Around 2 a.m. on June 14, three males approached the male victim and attempted to rob him. During the attempt, the victim was shot, Hebert said. Thus far in the investigation, the detective assigned to the case developed information regarding the identities of two of the three perpetrators. After that information was released to the public, the detective received tips which led to two arrests, Hebert said.

Paul Charles, 22, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested June 28 on a warrant for attempted first degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm.

Dwayne Anthony Skinner of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested July 16 on a warrant for attempted armed robbery with a firearm. He was also charged with possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As the investigation continued, the detective identified the third suspect in the shooting as Cagnolatti, Hebert said. He is believed to be actively evading law enforcement authorities, he said. Because of the nature of the crime, information regarding Cagnolatti has been registered in the National Crime Information Center. Cagnolatti is considered to be violent and should not be approached, Hebert said. Cagnolatti is 5 feet, 8 inches tall weighing 130 pounds and is a black male with black hair and brown eyes.

The only photo law enforcement has of Cagnolatti is a driver’s license photo, which due to privacy laws cannot be released to the public, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Traci Landry said.

Damien Keller, 29, who was first featured in May, is wanted on a warrant for forgery. Keller’s last known addresses are Bayou Corne Drive in Pierre Part and Kem Street in Patterson.

On May 14, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a forged check. While reviewing account transactions, the victim discovered that a personal check in the amount of $250 had been cashed. After speaking with the victim and working with the victim’s bank, the deputy investigating the complaint identified Keller as the suspect who forged and cashed the check, Hebert said.

Keller had been hired by the victim to do some yard work and gained access to a financial document, he said. Keller is also wanted on a warrant for probation parole violation. Keller drives a white Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Larry Dean Robertson Jr., who has been on the Most Wanted list since October, is wanted for armed robbery from an incident in May and also for failure to appear for simple robbery from an incident one year ago.

According to Hebert, on Oct. 29, 2011, Robertson struck a man at a store and took his cash, and in another incident on May 29, Robertson robbed a victim of cash at gunpoint. Charges were filed the next day.

Robertson, 25, is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 190 pounds. His last known address was in the 100 block of Edward Lane in Jeanerette.

Robertson has tattoos of a cross on his neck, stars on his right hand, 4-c on his chest, and “Gone Hard” on his right forearm, Hebert said in October.

Andre Jones, 44, who has also been on the Most Wanted list since October, is wanted by the sheriff’s office for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 195 pounds. He is wanted for not paying child support. His last known address was in the 2100 block of Main Street in Patterson.

Belinda Ann Arceneaux, 27, of the 700 block of La. 668 in Jeanerette, has been on the Most Wanted list since December on six warrants for issuing worthless checks. The warrants date back to August and September of 2007, when Arceneaux wrote the bad checks to gas stations, Hebert said.

The checks total just more than $245, Hebert said. Arceneaux is also wanted on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of failure to use a seatbelt and speeding. Arceneaux is a black female, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and about 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Most wanted suspect Dakota Crawford of Franklin turned himself in Aug. 2 on a warrant for unauthorized use of an access card, which stems from an investigation that began April 2, when the sheriff’s office received a complaint of a vehicle burglary in which a credit card was stolen. The card that had been reported stolen by the complainant was used at three different locations in the Baldwin and Jeanerette areas with unauthorized charges totaling just over $380, Hebert said earlier in August.

Morgan City

Police are looking for Paul M. Daigle, 35, who is wanted for theft by shoplifting with a value of $450 stemming from an Aug. 13 incident. Daigle is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said.

Police are also looking for two suspects who have been in the most wanted edition before.

Robert J. Gussman Jr., 40, of Bush Street in Morgan City, who was first featured in June, is wanted for theft more than $500, theft of utilities, and contempt of court/failure to appear to pay fines and failure to appear to provide proof.

Gussman is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

The theft of utilities charge is due to Gussman illegally hooking back up to the city’s electricity at his residence, Crouch said.

The theft of more than $500 charge is from the theft of a lower unit of an outboard motor, Crouch said.

John Joseph Marchetti, who was first featured in April and whose last known address is on Camp Street in New Orleans, is wanted by Morgan City police on an outstanding warrant for two counts of theft more than $500 for a total of $5,600, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of forgery.

Marchetti is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 145 pounds with brown and gray hair and green eyes. On April 4, the owner of a local company came into the Morgan City Police Department and stated several business checks had been stolen. Morgan City detectives conducted an investigation and, through surveillance video, identified Marchetti cashing two of the stolen checks in the amount of $2,800 each. Marchetti is believed to be homeless and may have changed his appearance since his last known photograph, Crouch said.

Patterson

Police are looking for three suspects who have been in earlier most wanted editions.

Marilyn D. Brown, 54, whose last known address is in the 500 block of Tiffany Street in Patterson, is wanted for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of crack cocaine. Brown is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was first put on the most wanted list in July.

Also featured in July, Mary A. Landry, 36, whose last known address is in the 500 block of Little Pines Lane in Bayou Vista, is wanted for theft. Landry is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 143 pounds. Landry has red hair and brown eyes and has scars on her abdomen and right leg, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said.

On May 21, 2011, a woman reported that her wallet had been stolen from her purse at her place of employment. The woman called her credit card company to report the cards stolen and was informed the cards were just used at the Shell Oil Station and the Cracker Barrel in Patterson. The woman went to the local businesses to try to identify the person using her credit card. Mary Landry was observed on video using the credit card that had been reported stolen, LaSalle said.

Christopher S. Webb, 43, who has been featured in the series since April, is wanted for distribution of cocaine. Webb is a black male, 6 feet tall and weighs 205 pounds with brown eyes. Webb may be in the New Orleans area, LaSalle said in April.

Webb’s last known address is in the 1600 block of West Ibert Street in Franklin.

Berwick

Police are still looking for previously featured suspects Shaneal Juwayn Williams and David Fanguy.

Williams, 24, who has been on the most wanted list since September, is wanted by Berwick police.

Williams’ last known address is Bayou Black Road in Gibson.

Williams is wanted by Berwick police for hit and run, improper backing and expired driver’s license from an Aug. 15, 2012, complaint of a hit and run accident at Bee Bee’s Seafood in Berwick.

Fanguy, 52, of Dulac, has been on the list since October and is wanted by police for domestic abuse battery fourth offense. Fanguy was charged in connection with a Jan. 17, 2012, incident where a victim reported being assaulted in their home.

Baldwin

Reshimah Antoine, who has been featured in the series since September, is wanted for criminal damage to property to a hotel room in March 2007. Her last known address is Texas Street in Lake Charles,

Franklin

Franklin police are still trying to find Tyrone Freeman, of La. 87 in Franklin, who was first featured in December, and is wanted for illegal possession of stolen things. Anyone with information may call Franklin police at 337-828-1716.

Most wanted suspect Colby Spain was arrested since July’s most wanted edition. According to the Franklin Banner-Tribune, Franklin Police Chief Sabria MgGuire reported that most wanted suspect Colby Spain, 30, of O’Neal Chube Street in Franklin, was arrested Aug. 9 on charges of attempted first degree murder of a police officer, domestic abuse battery, reckless operation, aggravated flight from an officer, four counts of stop sign violation, four counts of turn signal violation, no driver’s license, two counts of hit and run, no seat belt, public intimidation and retaliation, and resisting an officer with force and violence. He was also charged with a failure to appear for revocation warrant.
