Bridge over canal in Houma will close

HOUMA, La. (AP) — Transportation authorities in Terrebonne Parish say the South Van Avenue Bridge over the Houma Navigation Canal Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for periods over the next month.
The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1tgFkPa) the bridge is expected to be closed from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Vehicle traffic will not be affected at night or on weekends while maintenance and repairs are underway on the Houma bridge.
