A 1951 Grumman HU-16 “Albatross” paid a visit to Perry Flying Center and the Patterson Airport Tuesday, reported Ken Perry, owner-president of the center. The plane is based in Minnesota and was on the way to Florida, Perry said in an email. The owner wanted to visit a long-time friend in Morgan City on his trip to Florida, he said. There are only about eight of the aircraft in the world that are flyable, Perry said.
