A 1951 Grumman HU-16 “Albatross” paid a visit to Perry Flying Center and the Patterson Airport Tuesday, reported Ken Perry, owner-president of the center. The plane is based in Minnesota and was on the way to Florida, Perry said in an email. The owner wanted to visit a long-time friend in Morgan City on his trip to Florida, he said. There are only about eight of the aircraft in the world that are flyable, Perry said. (Submitted Photo Courtesy of Perry Flying Center)
