Berwick High School’s Brie Hill hits the ball against E.D. White during earlier season action. The Lady Panthers defeated Morgan City Wednesday in four games to take third place in Division 3, District 6. Berwick now will await to see if it has clinched one of six available wildcard spots that will be annouced along with the rest of the playoff field when the brackets for all five divisions are released Monday. Berwick High School defeated Morgan City 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-15, 25-8) on Senior Night in both teams’ Division 3, District 6 finale.
Patterson welcomes local rival Berwick for homecoming Friday.
The Lumberjacks (6-2, 2-0 District 9-3A) have won six games straight games after starting the season 0-2.
Two Berwick High students are part of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association academic all-state composite teams for their individual sports. Olivia Gilbert, daughter of David and Anna Gilbert, left, earned honors for swim. Diana Grace Guarisco, daughter of Lee and Claire Guarisco, earned honors for volleyball.
