Members of the United States Coast Guard visited Holy Cross Elementary School’s Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 classes during Community Helper week.

The new Coast Guard Enlisted Association Atchafalaya Branch in Morgan City installation ceremony was held Thursday at the Port of Morgan City. MSTCM Joe Pasqua of the Chief Petty Officer Association was master of ceremonies. Coast Guard members of Marine Safety Unit Morgan City were in attendance, including Commanding Officer Captain David G. McClellan. The honored guest of the ceremony was the tenth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Charles W. “Skip” Bowen. The purpose of the Atchafalaya Branch is to form under the Chief Petty Officer Association to assist fellow shipmates, command and community. From left are members of the association, Secretary Yeoman 2nd Class Rosita Riedel, President Marine Science Technician 2nd Class Amanda Metheny, Bowen, Master of Ceremonies Marine Science Technician Master Chief Petty Officer Joe Pasqua, Vice President Marine Science Technician 3rd Class William Kahms, and Treasurer Marine Science Technician 1st Class Brendon McNelis.
