A 54-year-old Patterson man was charged Sunday in an incident where he is accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl, Patterson Police Detective Larry Jones said.
—Murray P. Pitre, 54, of the 900 block of Tall Timber Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 1:25 p.m. Sunday for sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile. The arrest stems from a complaint of Pitre having molested a 13-year-old girl, Jones said. Pitre is still in jail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Sylton J. Francis, 57, of the 300 block of Ellis Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6 p.m. Sunday for open container in public, disturbing the peace by language, disturbing the peace intoxicated and resisting arrest or an officer. Francis was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 122 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Shaqunia Harris, 20, of the 200 block of Arizona Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:14 p.m. Sunday for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at a store in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Harris, an employee of Walmart, stole $1,200 in cash from her employer, Hebert said. Harris was jailed with no bail set.
—Lisa Yeager, 38, of the 100 block of Dottie’s Lane in Ricohoc, was arrested at 10:18 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Ricohoc. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Yeager scratched a male victim on the neck, Hebert said. During her arrest, Yeager attempted to pull away from the deputy, Hebert said. Yeager was jailed with no bail set.
—Jason J. Mathews, 33, of the 100 block of Friendship Lane in Amelia, was arrested at 7:23 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy responding to a complaint at a residence on Kelly Pellerin Lane in Verdunville made contact with Mathews and discovered that he was wanted on the active warrant. Mathews was jailed with bail set at $5,603.38.
—Lisa Guerrero, 32, of the 200 block of Vivian Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Friday for domestic abuse battery and on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation. A deputy working a security detail at the Amelia Recreation Center observed a woman yelling while approaching a boy in the playground area of the facility. The woman then began striking the juvenile, Hebert said. The deputy responded, stopping the woman, Hebert said.
During the investigation, the woman was identified as Guerrero and the juvenile’s age was found to be 14 years old, Hebert said. The deputy also learned that Guerrero was wanted on an active warrant. Guerrero was jailed with no bail set.
—Phillip Jones Jr., 26, of the 6300 block of Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Friday for speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle speeding on James Street and conducted a traffic stop.
The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Jones. During the traffic stop, the deputy learned of the active warrant for Jones’ arrest. Jones was jailed and released on $1,000 bail.
—Kevin D. Hutchings, 53, of the 100 block of W. Benton Road in Clinton, Missouri, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of La. 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Hutchings and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, the sheriff said.
The deputy conducted a field sobriety test on which Hutchings performed poorly. Hutchings later registered .19 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzor 5000 breath test. Hutchings was jailed and released on $2,750 bail.
—Devon Marsh, 22, of the 1000 block of Ciro Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:37 p.m. Saturday for resisting an officer by giving false information. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on Southeast Boulevard on a vehicle with a headlight in need of repair. The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle who identified himself as someone else.
The deputy, however, recognized the driver from a previous complaint and identified him as Devon Marsh. Marsh was released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 24.
—Travis Blanchard, 38, of the 100 block of Moon Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:24 a.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated and headlamps required. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle travelling on La. 182 with no headlights or taillights on and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Blanchard, and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The deputy also observed that Blanchard’s speech was slurred. After further investigation, Blanchard was jailed and released on $7,750 bail.
—David Risk, 29, of the 500 block of Carol Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:34 p.m. Sunday for simple assault and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a complaint of stalking at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Risk continually went to the residence of a female victim despite the woman refusing to have contact with Risk. Risk was jailed and released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 24.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Samantha Williams, 25, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:06 p.m. Friday for resisting an officer, battery of a police officer, appearing in public intoxicated, on a St. Mary Parish warrant for probation violation.
Officers investigating a disturbance on Egle St. encountered Samantha Williams who was identified as the person causing the disturbance in front of the residence. Officers also learned of an outstanding warrant for St. Mary Parish and attempted to place Williams under arrest. Williams reportedly resisted officers attempts and struck an officer in an effort to resist arrest. She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
—Demetrus Owens, 21, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Saturday for contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and abuse of toxic vapors.
—Angel R. Brouillette, 19, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and abuse of toxic vapors.
Officers were dispatched to a Levee Road residence regarding the use of synthetic marijuana. Officers arrived and learned during the investigation that Owens and Brouillete were alleged to have encouraged a 14-year-old girl to consume synthetic marijuana, which they are accused of supplying to the juvenile as well, Banks said. Both Owens and Brouillette were jailed.
—Barry L. Jones, 27, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Friday on warrants for a probation violation, failure to appear for disturbing the peace by fighting, failure to appear for expired license plate, failure to appear for driving under suspension, failure to pay a fine for disturbing the peace by fighting, and failure to pay probation fee for disturbing the peace.
Jones was located on Egle Street by an officer and placed under arrest on several warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City. He was jailed.
—Jerri L. Champine, 30, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Friday for improper lighting and possession of Schedule I marijuana.
An officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting on Sixth Street and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver, Champine, who was found to possess marijuana located inside a cigarette pack, Banks said. She was jailed.
—Nancy R. Sandoval, 43, of Delray Beach, Florida, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 convenience store regarding a disturbance. Officers located Sandoval, who was impaired and causing the disturbance, and had been given several opportunities to leave the premises but refused, Banks said. She was jailed.
—Cheyenne L. Percle Jr., 27, of Keith Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:25 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear for driving under suspension, improper lighting, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
An officer observed Percle operating a vehicle in the area of Grizzaffi Street with a suspended driver’s license and stopped Percle to investigate. Percle was jailed.
—Ricky L. Brown, 60, of Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Saturday for introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
Brown, who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail, was arrested and charged with introduction of contraband into the facility after he was found to be in possession of tobacco products, Banks said.
—Amanda L. Bordelon, 31, of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:52 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to a Front Street residence regarding a domestic disturbance. Officers encountered Bordelon who was screaming profanities in front of the residence causing others to investigate, Banks said. The officers told Bordelon to stop, but she continued. She was jailed and released on cash bail.
—Joseph M. Andrews, 34, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:29 p.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated second offense and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven by Andrews in the area of Roderick Street. Andrews was known by the officer to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, Banks said. As officers attempted to stop Andrews, he pulled into a residence and exited the vehicle.
Andrews admitted to officers that he was attempting to evade the officer, Banks said. Andrews registered a blood alcohol concentration of .97 grams-percent and was jailed.
—Ashley Aucoin, 27, of Ohio Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:56 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for two counts of possession of marijuana and a warrant for probation violation.
Officers responded to a disturbance at an Arenz Street residence where they located Aucoin who was wanted on warrants for the City Court of Morgan City. She was jailed.
—Vinny P. Verret, 27, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:28 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace.
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of Third Street and Railroad Avenue. Witnesses said a man was observed screaming profanities in the area, Banks said. Verret was located on Union Street and jailed.
—William H. King, 36, of Filmore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. today for theft of goods (value $18.21)
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 convenience store regarding a theft. Officers learned that a customer, King, had attempted to purchase an alcoholic beverage and other items with an invalid check. King took the items anyway, Banks said. King was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
