Patterson man charged with theft of elderly person’s assets

A 52-year-old Patterson man was charged Monday with stealing assets from an elderly person, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said in a news release.
—Jamie Boudreaux, 52, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 12:16 p.m. Monday on the charge of theft of assets of an aged person. Boudreaux was transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville with bail set at $148,000.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 48 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Tyler M. Kapp, 23, of the 500 block of Crenshaw Street in Berwick, at 1:42 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. Berwick Police made contact with Kapp during a traffic stop, discovered the active warrant for his arrest, and notified a deputy who made the arrest. Kapp was jailed with no bail set.
—Tashekia Celestine, 35, of the 1100 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, at 3 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging her with issuing worthless checks. A deputy investigating a traffic incident in Bayou Vista made contact with Celestine and discovered the active warrant for her arrest. Celestine was released on a summons to appear in court July 22.
—Kyle Roy, 21, of the 200 block of Cajun Street in Broussard, at 2:04 p.m. Monday on a warrant for Louisiana State Police Troop I for interfering with a law enforcement investigation. A deputy transported Roy from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $100,000.
—Juan DeDios, 48, of the 1200 block of C. Broussard Road in New Iberia, at 11:04 p.m. Monday on the charges of driving while intoxicated, driver must be licensed, and open alcoholic container in motor vehicles. A deputy observed a vehicle travelling slowly on U.S. 90.
At one point, the vehicle came to a complete stop in the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop in Berwick and made contact with the driver, identified as DeDios. The deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on DeDios’ breath and person, and conducted a field sobriety test on which DeDios performed poorly, Hebert said. DeDios later registered 0.204 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration and was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. reported the following arrests:
—Regina Hebert, 35, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, at 10:30 a.m. Monday on a warrant charging her with principal to distribution of Schedule II Oxycodone.
Hebert was arrested in Gulfport, Mississippi, on Morgan City Police warrants in connection with operation “April Fool.” Hebert was jailed.
—James Naverre, 18, of Apple Street in Morgan City, at 1:35 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging him with probation violation.
Naverre was located by officers and arrested on warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City. Naverre was jailed.
—Dallas Marcantel, 19, of Headland Street in Morgan City, at 3:51 p.m. Monday on a warrant charging him with probation violation.
Marcantel turned himself into the Morgan City Police Department after learning of a warrant from the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City. Marcantel was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Steven Davis, 39, of Murial Street in Morgan City, at 7:50 p.m. Monday on the charges of driving under suspension and no turn signal.
An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of La. 182 and Roderick Street. The driver was identified as Davis, who was jailed.
—Travis Cain, 22, of Pecan Street in Morgan City, at 9:02 p.m. Monday on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia second offense and possession of Schedule I marijuana second offense.
Officers responding to a complaint of illegal narcotics in the Pecan Street area located Cain along with several other people. An officer found a suspected hand rolled marijuana cigarette, Griffin said.
Cain admitted that the suspected marijuana was his, Griffin said. After his arrest, officers located more suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia items on Cain. Cain was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Michael Young, 20, of Nicklaus Street in Berwick, at 2:07 p.m. Monday on the charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Young posted $3,500 bail.
—Zachary Mahfouz, 21, of Second Street in Berwick, at 4:09 p.m. Monday on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids third offense and misuse of toxic vapors.
