A 36-year-old Patterson man was caught in Centerville with more than 60 pills after a vehicle crash, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Brandon Berger, 36, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 5:36 a.m. today for possession of Schedule IV clonazepam and alprazolam with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II Vyvanse, possession of Schedule I marijuana second offense and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
A deputy responded to a vehicle crash on La. 317 in Centerville. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Berger. While speaking with Berger, the deputy learned that Berger drove off of the roadway and struck a parked vehicle, Hebert said.
During the investigation, the deputy located more than 60 Vyvanse, clonazepam, and alprazolam pills inside the vehicle, the sheriff said. Marijuana and several small plastic baggies were also located, Hebert said. Berger was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert responded to 40 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Jose Pacheco Dozzetti, 25, of the 1600 block of Barrow Street in Amelia, was arrested at 9:49 a.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery that occurred in a vehicle in the Lake Palourde Road area. During the investigation, the deputy determined that Dozzetti pushed a woman during an argument, Hebert said. Dozzetti was jailed with no bail set.
—Christopher Oubre Jr., 19, of the 100 block of La. 182 East in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:38 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana second offense and failure to stop at a stop sign. Oubre was jailed with no bail set.
—A juvenile male, 16, no address available, was arrested at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday for simple battery of a school teacher. A school resource officer investigating a complaint of battery at the St. Mary Parish Alternative School learned that the juvenile struck a teacher. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Channing C. Riley, 32, of Barrow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday for resisting an officer by giving false information, on a warrant for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks, a warrant for criminal neglect of family and on a Terrebonne Parish warrant for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks-probation violation.
—Thomas Riley, 27, of Barrow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday for simple battery.
Officers dispatched to a disturbance at a Barrow Street residence were told that Thomas Riley had caused a disturbance at the residence, striking a woman during an altercation, Banks said.
Officers located Thomas Riley and another man, Channing Riley, in the area and questioned their involvement. Channing Riley made attempts to conceal his true identity by providing a false name to officers, Banks said. When he was positively identified, he was found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants. Thomas Riley, who was accused of the battery, was arrested. Both were jailed.
—Marjorie R. Ruffin, 24, of Franklin, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for possession of marijuana, a warrant for two counts of contempt of court, and a warrant for failure to pay probation fee.
Ruffin was located at the Morgan City Jail and booked on the warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Henry Johnson, 81, of Oregon Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday for theft by shoplifting. He was released on $250 bail.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronnie Theriot reported the following arrest:
—William Hunt, 36, of the 1000 block of Tower Tank Road in Morgan City, was arrested for failure to appear and issuance of arrest warrant.
