Arrests reports

Two Houma women were booked Thursday after narcotics detectives found marijuana, a handgun, and about $300 in cash believed to have come from illegal drug sales inside a vehicle after a traffic stop in Amelia, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Brianyiel Westbrooke, 23, of the 200 block of Cozier Drive in Houma, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Thursday for following too closely, no driver’s license, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone-church) and transactions involving drug proceeds.
—Daiesha Scott, 26, of the 1100 block of Columbus Street in Houma, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone-church).
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle travelling in close proximity to their unmarked patrol unit, Hebert said. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Friendship Alley for following too closely and made contact with the driver, Westbrooke, and passenger, Scott.
While speaking with Westbrooke, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located several bags of marijuana packaged for sale, a handgun, and slightly more than $300 in cash, Hebert said. Detectives believe the money was derived from illegal drug sales. Westbrooke and Scott were jailed with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Walter Fowler, 51, of the 1100 block of Chester Bowles Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Thursday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
While patrolling the Morgan City area, narcotics detectives observed a pickup truck driving in the middle of the roadway on General Hodges Street. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Fowler. While speaking with Fowler, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids. Fowler was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 26.
—Brennan Moore, 19, of the 100 block of Levett Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 5:09 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for possession of marijuana, second offense. Narcotics detectives located Moore on the warrant at a business on Railroad Avenue in Morgan City. Moore was jailed and released on personal surety bail.
—Raymond T. Chapman, 34, of the 100 block of Caleb Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Chapman was jailed with bail set at $100,000.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Kenneth Rollins, 24, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, failure to appear for possession of marijuana third offense, failure to appear for theft less than $500 and failure to appear for disturbing the peace.
Rollins was located at a La. 182 apartment complex and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants from the 16th Judicial District Court. He was jailed.
—Aries Keal, 31, of Franklin, was arrested at 11:21 a.m. Thursday on a Franklin warrant for failure to appear for hit and run, driving under suspension and criminal mischief.
Officers investigating a complaint at a Levee Road business encountered Keal, who was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Franklin Police Department. Keal was transported to the Morgan City Police Department until his transportation to the Franklin Police Department.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
