Morgan City woman arrested after disturbance in store

A 41-year-old Morgan City woman was arrested after refusing to leave a business for disturbing the peace, said Morgan City Police Chief James Blair in a news release.
—Rachel King, 41, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:12 p.m. Sunday on the charges of disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, battery of a police officer, and remaining after being forbidden.
Officers were called to an La. 182 business after a complaint of a subject causing a disturbance. Officers contacted the subject later identified as King and spoke with her about the complaint. Officers advised King that the manager of the business asked that she leave. King refused to do so. King became very loud with the officers at which time officers attempted to arrest her. King began to struggle with officers, after which she was handcuffed and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the Morgan City Police Department Jail, the officer attempted to place King into a holding cell. King committed a battery on an officer while being placed in a holding cell, police said.

—Donald Richard, 34, of Grand Prairie, Texas, at 11:59 p.m. Friday on the charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana (fourth offense), violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance law, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, introduction of contraband into a penal institute, transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance, and possession of legend drug Promethazine.
—Bradley Druihet, 29, of Adams Street in Morgan City, at 11:59 p.m. Friday on the charges of speeding 35 mph in a 20 mph zone, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law, illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of legend drug Promethazine, and warrants for Baldwin Police Department and St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for traffic.
An officer in the area of Allison Street observed what he thought was a speeding vehicle. The officer checked the vehicle speed with his radar and confirmed that the vehicle was traveling 35 mph in a 20 mph zone.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and came into contact with the driver, who identified himself as Brad Broussard. The driver was later identified as Bradley Druihet and was asked to exit the vehicle when he could not produce a driver’s license. The officer allowed Druihet to look for the paperwork for the vehicle and noticed a brown medicine bottle with the label scratched off. The officer detained Druihet along with the passenger, Donald Richard. The officer discovered that the bottle contained suspected Promethazine cough syrup.
The officer also located in that area several bottles of prescription pills. Both subject were advised of their rights and were checked for weapons. Druihet was found to have a spring assisted automatic knife in his pants pocket. Officer then located a digital scale inside the car, which had suspected marijuana on it.
During the investigation, officers noticed that Richard appeared to have something in his mouth. When officers attempted to remove the items, Richard began to attempt to chew the item. Officers were able to get the item, which was a small baggie with suspected cocaine. Officers also located suspect crack cocaine on the ground near Richard. Richard was also in possession of a large amount of cash, which he could not tell officer how he came to be in possession of.
Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department. Once there Druihet was found to have a bag of suspected marijuana in his underwear. The subjects were stopped in an area, which was within 2,000 feet of a school and a church.
—Tony Kaufman, 21, of Franklin, at 2:01 a.m. Saturday on the charges of speeding, improper lane use and driving while intoxicated.
Officers responded to a complaint of a motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed on Railroad Avenue. Officers were able to locate the motorcycle and follow behind it, at which time the officer paced the motorcycle around 60 mph. The officer also observed the motorcycle cross over the center line several times. The officer stopped the motorcycle and identified the driver as Tony Kaufman.
Kaufman was believed to be impaired and was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. Kaufman was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer test with the results of .098 grams percent. Kaufman was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.
—Renee Garrison, 35, of Patterson, at 2:01 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to return leased movables and no turn signal.
An officer in the area of Brashear Avenue observed a vehicle turn without using its signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver Garrison. Garrison was found to have a warrant with the Morgan City Police Department for failure to return leased movables. Garrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department, where she was booked and released on bond.
—Kim Crouch, 53, of Catherine Street in Morgan City, at 10:54 a.m. Saturday on the charge for theft of goods (valued at $27.18).
Officers were called to a local business after employees observed Crouch attempt to take items from the business without paying. The officer spoke with store employees who observed Crouch place items in her purse and attempt to leave the store. The employees stopped Crouch from leaving and contacted Morgan City Police Department. The officers spoke with Crouch who admitted that she was going to leave the store without paying for the items. Crouch was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
—Craig Albarado, 52, of Patterson, at 12:32 p.m. Saturday on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule IV clonazepam, possession of Schedule IV diazepam, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, and resisting an officer.
An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of La. 182 near Cottonwood Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, the passenger opened the door and began to run. While doing so he threw a bag at the officer. The officer was able to give chase and after a struggle, he placed the subject, identified as Albarado, in handcuffs. The officer recovered the bag at which time noticed a small baggie sticking out of it. The officer then obtained consent to search the bag where he found the suspected narcotics. Albarado admitted that the bag and the narcotics belonged to him. Albarado was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarcerated.
—April Aucoin, 35, of Patterson, at 6:07 p.m. Saturday on the charges of hit and run driving, operating a vehicle while intoxicated (third offense), and careless operation of a vehicle.
Officer were called to Park Road in Morgan City after an off duty officer observed a vehicle strike a mailbox and drive away. The off duty officer flagged down the vehicle and detained the driver until a patrol unit arrived. The officer spoke with the driver, Aucoin, who stated that she hit the mailbox and spun her tires trying to get away. The officer believed that Aucoin was under influence of some type of medication. The officer conducted a field sobriety test, which she failed. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she admitted that she had taken several types of medication. A urine sample was provided and the results are pending. Aucoin was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.
—Jose Lopez, 57, of Wise Street in Morgan City, at 9:29 p.m. Saturday on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and no turn signal.
An officer patrolling the area of Brashear Avenue and Second Street turn without using a turn signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Jose Lopez. Lopez seemed to be nervous while speaking to the officer and consented to a search of his vehicle. The officer located a pipe, which is used to smoke illegal narcotics. Lopez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
—Robinson Castro-Aquino, 36, Andras Street in Morgan City, on at 9:52 p.m. Saturday on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (third offense), driving under suspension, and general speed law.
An officer in the area of Front Street observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Aquino. The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Aquino, who was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Aquino was placed under arrest after almost falling while the officer was conducting a field sobriety test. Aquino was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an intoxilyer test with the results of .216 grams percent.
—Nyah Boudreaux, 34, of Franklin, at 11:04 p.m. Saturday on the charge of probation violation for City Court of Morgan City.
Boudreaux was transported from Franklin Police Department and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail on warrants from the City Court of Morgan City for probation violation. Boudreaux was later released after posting bond.
—Clarence Francois, 48, of Morgan City, at 12:57 a.m. Sunday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated.
An officer in the area of Railroad Avenue observed a subject riding a bike in the middle of the roadway. The officer stopped and spoke with the subject identified as Francois. Francois began to get irate and cursing. The officer could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage and Francois admitted to drinking. Francois was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
—Gerald Ruffin, 33, of Bush Street in Morgan City, at 2:11 a.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of marijuana and driving under suspension.
An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 90 and La. 70. Upon coming into contact with the driver, Ruffin, the officer learned that he was driving under suspension. While speaking with him about the stop, the officer noticed that Ruffin kept placing his hand in his pockets. The officer searched Ruffin and located suspected marijuana. Ruffin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
—Cayde Hatch, 18, of South Everett Street in Morgan City, at 4:33 a.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the uniform of the controlled dangerous substance law, illegal use of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
Officers were called to a South Everett Street residence for a loud music complaint. The officer located the residence and attempted to speak with the owner. The officer contacted Hatch, while speaking with him the officer could smell a strong odor of what he suspected marijuana. The officer advised Hatch of his rights and learned that he had marijuana in the residence. Hatch gave the officers the suspected marijuana, however he would not give consent to search. The officer obtained a search warrant for the residence. The officers located suspected drug paraphernalia in the residence. Also in the residence was a juvenile. Hatch was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
—Ted Smith, 47, of Dawn Drive in Morgan City, at 6:43 p.m. Sunday on the charges of remaining after being forbidden and resisting an officer.
Officers were called to an address on First Street in Morgan City. Officers arrived to find a subject, identified as Smith, causing a disturbance. Smith had been advised on several occasions that he was not allowed back at the address. Smith was advised that he was under arrest, at which time he started to resist officers. Smith was handcuffed after a short struggle and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
—Ty Hammonds, 35, of Patterson, at 11:31 a.m. Monday for warrants with City Court of Morgan City for probation violation and failure to appear to pay fine for driving while intoxicated.
Hammonds was arrested while at City Court in Morgan City. Hammonds was booked for warrants from City Court of Morgan City for probation violation and failure to pay fine for driving while intoxicated. Hammonds was booked into the Morgan City Jail facility.
—Dondre Parker, 19, of Levee Road in Morgan City, at 4:06 p.m. Monday on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting.
—Passion Harris, 19, of Garber Street in Morgan City, at 6:27 p.m. Monday on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting.
Parker and Harris were arrested by officers on warrants for disturbing the peace by fighting. Warrants were filed after officers investigated a complaint of a fight in the area of Garber Street on Dec. 10. Both subjects were booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Misty Lafleur, 34, of Second Street in Berwick, at 9:13 a.m. Monday on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, violation of controlled dangerous substance in a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of Tramadol. No bail is set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Kenneth R. Bellard Jr., 26, of Pine Street in Franklin, at midnight Saturday on the charges of driving while intoxicated by refusal (first offense) and stop sign violation. Bellard remains incarcerated. No bail is set.
—Jose L. Flores, 55, of Mill Road in Patterson, at 2:34 a.m. Sunday on the charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), no driver’s license, no insurance, and expired motor vehicles inspection sticker. Flores remains incarcerated. No bail is set.
—Chanedra Jones, 28, of Harry D Street in Patterson, at 3:10 p.m. Monday on the charge of disturbing the peace. Jones was released on bail set at $250.
—Shaundralette Firmin, 33, of Harry D Street in Patterson, at 3:10 p.m. Monday on the charge of disturbing the peace. Firmin was released on bail set at $250.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Julia Marshall, 17, of Rose Street in Berwick, at 12:08 p.m. Monday on the charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a residential burglary on Delmar Avenue in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy discovered that Marshall, who knew the residents of the home, entered the building without their permission and stole several hundred dollars that was kept in a dresser drawer.
Marshall was transported to the parish jail for booking. She was later released on bail set at $1,500.
—April Aucoin, 35, of Patterson, was charged with theft on Monday. A deputy working a complaint of a theft of a boat motor and trailer collected evidence that Aucoin took the items from the victim whom she knew and pawned them. Aucoin was already incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department jail when this charge was filed. No bail is set.
—Mia Blair, 18, of Greenwood Street in Morgan City, at 7:35 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference and failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Blair was located at her residence and was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $100,000.
—Brennan N. Skinner, 23, of Grace Street in Morgan City, at 8:20 p.m. Monday on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of attempted unauthorized use of an access card, failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding, and failure to honor written promise to appear.
While patrolling Bayou Vista, a deputy observed Skinner in a business off U.S. 90. The deputy knew Skinner was wanted on warrants. Skinner was taken into custody and transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
—J.C. Ford Jr., 29, of Friendship Alley in Amelia, at 11:39 p.m. Monday on an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of prohibited acts (Schedule II).
A deputy responding to a complaint of a single vehicle crash made contact with Ford who was at the scene. While speaking with Ford, the deputy located the active warrant from Assumption Parish. Ford was transported to the parish jail. Bail is set at $12,000.
—Antoinette Davis, 37, of Morgan City, was additionally charged on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine at 7:17 p.m. Dec. 11.
The warrant stems from a narcotics investigation conducted on Cotton Road in Patterson on Nov. 4 during which Davis was found to be in possession of two small bags of methamphetamine. After the investigation was complete, a warrant was issued for her arrest. Davis was already incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department jail.
