Police Reports 1-5-16
Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests:
Dereck Brown, 24, of Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, was arrested Saturday and charged on Chitimacha police warrants for sexual assault and burglary. Bond was set at $100,000.
Nicole Gassiott, 40, of Flattown Road, Charenton, was arrested Sunday and charged on a Chitimacha police warrant for telephone harassment. No bond was set.
Dale Simoneaux Jr., 25, of Charenton, was arrested Monday and charged on a Chitimacha police warrant for theft over $500. He was already incarcerated in the St. Mary Parish jail when the warrant was served. No bond was set.
Natalie V. Cranche, 33, of Oneida Street, Charenton, was arrested Monday and charged on Chitimacha police warrants for three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and neglect of a child. No bond was set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Mateo Lupis, 21, of North Texas City, Texas was arrested Dec. 30 at 9:05 a.m. and charged for second degree battery. No bail was set.
John Dupas, 38, of Metairie, was arrested Dec. 30 at 8:59 a.m. and charged on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
Paul M. Daigle, 37, of 126 Renee St., Apt. 5, Pierre Part, was arrested Dec. 30 at 2:16 p.m. and charged on three failure to appear for drug court status conference warrants. Bail was set at $300,000.
Kerry J. Oppenheimer, 46, of New Iberia, was arrested Dec. 30 at 4:48 p.m. and charged on a warrant for flight from an officer and illegal possession of stolen things. No bail was set.
Elvin Jordan Menjivar, 32, of 1200 Front St., Morgan City, was arrested Dec. 31 at 1:31 a.m. and charged for reckless operation of a vehicle, no insurance and no driver’s license. He was released on a summons to appear in court.
Jaymie L. Brownlee, 30, of 1001 Michael St., Patterson, was arrested Dec. 31 at 6:56 a.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear in the charge of criminal neglect of family. He was released after paying the $2,348 fine.
Kevin Drexler, 32, of New Iberia, was arrested Dec. 31 at 11:20 a.m. and charged with battery of a correctional facility employee and criminal damage to property. No bail was set.
Kerdern Martin, 29, of Charenton, was arrested Friday at 3:13 a.m. and charged on a warrant for domestic abuse battery and simple assault. No bail was set.
Hamilton Banks, 28, of 910 Everett St., Morgan City, was arrested Friday at 7:05 p.m. and charged for violation of the parish loud noise ordinance and expired driver’s license. The deputy released Banks on a summons to appear in court.
Derek L. Brown, 24, of 1332 Chitimacha Trail, Baldwin, was arrested Saturday at 11:47 a.m. and charged on a Chitimacha Police Department warrant for burglary of an inhabited dwelling and sexual assault. Bail was set at $100,000.
Devin P. Guillot, 29, of 542 Bayou Drive, Pierre Part, was arrested Saturday at 2:05 p.m. and charged with theft of goods. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
A juvenile female, 14, of Berwick, was arrested Saturday at 11:24 p.m. and charged with being an ungovernable juvenile. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Lissie Bernard, 26, of New Iberia, was arrested Saturday at 11:39 p.m. and charged with failure to signal a lane change, no driver’s license, no motor vehicle insurance, expired inspection sticker, switched license plate and canceled license plate. Bernard was later released on a summons to appear in court.
Antonio D. Pickett, 49, of 1409 Railroad Aveenue, Morgan City, was arrested Sunday at 3:10 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless operation with a crash and no driver’s license. No bail was set.
Phillip J. Dehart, 31, of 4200 Francis St., Berwick, was arrested Sunday at 7:57 p.m. and charged with driving under suspension. The deputy released Dehart on a summons to appear in court.
Charles Cantrell, 45, of 150 Two Sisters Ct., Bayou Vista, was arrested Sunday at 8:22 p.m. and charged on a Morgan City Police Department warrant for failure to appear on traffic violations and on a 16th Judicial District Court bench warrant for failure to appear on the charge of stalking. No bail was set.
Jerrell Lockett, 27, of 206 Joseph St., Baldwin, was arrested Sunday at 9:07 p.m. and charged with reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, hit and run driving, criminal trespass, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and no proof of motor vehicle insurance. No bail was set.
Crystal Bourgeois, 33, of 771 Deforest Brown Ln., Apt. #20, Centerville, was arrested Monday at 9:10 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief (filing a false complaint). The deputy released Bourgeois on a summons to appear in court.
Christine Hughes, 32, of Abbeville, was arrested Monday at 2:11 p.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail on the warrant was set at $9,353.86.
Lucille Gussman, 35, of 711 Terrebonne St., Morgan City, was arrested Monday at 8:42 p.m. and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, possession of a counterfeit controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and obstruction of justice. No bail was set.
John Walsh, 35, of 315 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested Monday at 8:42 p.m. and charged with obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a counterfeit CDS, resisting an officer (giving false information) and on two warrants for failure to comply with terms and conditions of drug court. No bail was set.
