Police Reports 11-26-14

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Derret W. Colbert, 32, of Lafayette, was arrested Tuesday at 1:05 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of driving under suspension, expired inspection sticker and seatbelt violation. He was released on $5,000 bond.
Darius Martin, 21, of Franklin, was charged Tuesday at 2:50 p.m. with criminal damage to property after reportedly striking a window at the parish jail repeatedly. He remains incarcerated.
Michael Payton, 26, of 407 Liner Street, Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 4:21 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant on charges of possession of Schedule I drugs, open alcohol container and a vehicle license violation. He was also charged with failure to appear on a charge of issuing worthless checks. No bond was set.
Charlie Jones, 56, of 128 Westside Park Lane, Amelia, was arrested Tuesday at 7:57 p.m. on a charge of criminal mischief. He was released on a summons.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of David Burrell Sr., 56, of Ninth Street, Franklin, Monday at 1:38 p.m. on a 14th Judicial District Court failure to appear warrant on charges of possession of Schedule I and II narcotics. No bond was set.
Freda Thomas, 33, of Bollard Street, Baldwin, was arrested Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. on a charge of theft and released on $10,000 bond.
The following four arrests were made at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday when officers responded to a report of a residential burglary on Iberia Street at 4:58 p.m. where a handgun was allegedly stolen. Investigators reportely received information regarding the burglary and the Franklin Police Department and St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Darce Lane.
Kai-Lynn Verrett, 18, of Eagle Street, Franklin, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was released on $3,500 bond.
Terrence Key Jr., 20, of Abbeville, was charged with simple burglary, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was also charged on a district court bench warrant with charges of failure to use seat belts and failure to honor written promise. No bond was set.
Matthew Guienze, 23, of Carl C. Foulcard Drive, Franklin, was charged with keeping a disorderly place and second offense possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $3,500 bond.
A juvenile male, 15, was charged with simple burglary and released to guardians pending juvenile court.
