Two arrested, accused of burglary

A 29-year-old Berwick man and 37-year-old Morgan City woman were arrested on a warrant for burglary and property damage in Bayou Vista, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
Hebert reported responding to 121 complaints and reported the following arrests:
—Christopher L. Martin, 29, of the 2300 block of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:59 p.m. Saturday on the charges of possession of Schedule III (Buprenorphine), driving under suspension, careless operation, warrant for two counts of simple burglary and criminal damage to property, and a warrant from Patterson police for failure to appear on the charge of no license plate light and no proof of insurance.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a reckless driver at the intersection of Columbus and Jupiter streets in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, one of the deputies observed a male subject standing near a vehicle that was blocking the roadway.
The deputy recognized the subject as Martin and knew that he was wanted on the warrant. During the arrest, the deputy located over a dozen pills on Martin for which he did not have a prescription.
The deputy also learned that Martin was driving the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The warrant for the charges of burglary and property damage is the result of an investigation into two vehicle burglaries and a damaged vehicle reported on Nov. 5.
—Antoinette Ourso Davis, 37, of the 500 block of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested 12:04 a.m. today on a warrant for simple burglary and attempted burglary. The warrant is the result of an investigation into two vehicle burglaries and a damaged vehicle reported on Nov. 5.
The burglaries occurred at a business located on La. 182 in Bayou Vista. The suspects were caught on video surveillance rummaging through and taking items from two unlocked vehicles in the parking lot.
One of the suspects is also seen cutting the tire of a vehicle. The detective assigned to the case positively identified the suspects as Martin and Davis. Martin was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
After learning Davis’ current residence, a deputy working to execute the warrant contacted Morgan City police. With their assistance, the deputy executed the warrant at Davis’ residence on Roderick Street. No bail is set.
—Timothy J. Hendon, 26, of the 200 block of Laura Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. Saturday on the charges of simple assault and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance at a residence on Laura Drive.
During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Hendon made loud verbal threats to a female victim. The deputy also learned that Hendon broke the victim’s cell phone.
Hendon was transported to the parish jail for booking. Hendon was later released on a summons to appear in court on Feb. 11.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Desmond Richard, 34, of the 300 block of Mike Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 8:40 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear at trial, resisting an officer with violence, disturbing the peace with offensive words, warrant for simple battery and theft, warrant for unauthorized use of a movable and simple criminal damage to property valued at $500.
Richard remains jailed. Bail is set at $17,500.
—Austin Thomassie, 17, of the 100 block of Riverview Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Saturday on the charges for possession of marijuana (first offense), possession of drug paraphernalia (first offense), possession of tobacco-underage, possession of a firearm in the presence of illegal narcotics (two counts), and possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number.
Thomassie remains jailed. No bail is set.
—Randolph Vilo, 55, of the 900 block of Washington Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:05 p.m. Saturday on the charges of simple battery involving domestic violence and a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear driving under suspension and display of temporary license plate.
Vilo remains jailed. No bail is set.
—Ethan Mensman, 18, of the 100 block of Riverview Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Sunday on the charges of speeding 55 mph in a 45 mph zone, stop sign violation, careless operation, no driver’s license, and resisting an officer by flight.
Mensman remains jailed. Bail is set at $1,141.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—David S. Howell, 50, of Susan Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Friday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated. Officers located Howell in the parking lot of a local hotel.
Officers could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from Howell’s breath and he was unable to maintain his balance. Howell was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and was jailed.
—Kacy L. Norman, 30, of Plaquemine, was arrested at 10:42 p.m. Friday on the charges of operation of a clandestine lab for manufacture of controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of Schedule II methamphetamine, resisting an officer by giving false information, and on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear.
—Lee M. Boudreaux, 41, of Verret Street in Amelia, was arrested at 10:42 p.m. Friday on the charges of operation of a clandestine lab for manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of methamphetamine, and on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear neglect of family.
The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of La. 182 near Aycock Street on a vehicle observed to have heavy damage to the front windshield. The driver of the vehicle, Norman, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.
Officers noticed that Norman appeared very nervous. The passenger in the vehicle, Boudreaux, was asked to exit the vehicle.
Officers subsequently received consent to search the vehicle. Items located in the vehicle were suspected methamphetamine, items used to manufacture methamphetamine, and an item used to smoke illegal narcotics.
During the initial stop, it was determined that Norman had given officers a false name. Both Norman and Boudreaux held active warrants with the Sixteenth Judicial District Court.
Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and were jailed.
—Shannon M. Zeringue, 42, of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Saturday on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, license plate light required and improper lane usage. A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 and Eleventh Street observed a vehicle swerving in the roadway.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Zeringue, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. While speaking to Zeringue, the officer could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath.
Zeringue was asked to perform the standard field sobriety test, in which she performed poorly. Zeringue was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
Once at the department, Zeringue was asked to submit to the chemical test for intoxication. Zeringue results indicated a blood alcohol content of .087 grams percent.
Zeringue was then charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She was booked and jailed.
—James L. Wilson, 26, of Franklin, was arrested at 7:51 a.m. Saturday on the warrant charge for failure to appear.
Wilson was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Wilson was booked and jailed.
—Allison F. Lecombe, 51, of Erath, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Saturday on the charges of possession of marijuana, illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of persons under 17 years old, and required periodical inspections. A patrol officer in the area of Ditch Avenue and Eighth Street observed a vehicle with a large crack on the driver’s side of the front windshield.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Lecombe, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. The officer also noticed a small child in the vehicle.
While talking to Lecombe, the officer could smell an odor of suspected marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The officer was able to get consent from Lecombe to search the vehicle.
The officer located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle and Lecombe was placed under arrest. The child was turned over to a guardian.
Lecombe was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and was jailed.
