Two men arrested for failing to register as sex offenders

A 38-year-old Morgan City man and a 28-year-old Patterson man were arrested Thursday for failing to registering as sex offenders, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Jacob R. Montgomery, 38, of the 300 block of Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Thursday on two warrants for failure to register as a sex offender or child predator and failure to pay annual registration fee as a sex offender. Montgomery was already in jail at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
—Jarvis N. Mack, 28, of the 500 block of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. Mack turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City after learning of the warrant for his arrest, Hebert said. He was jailed and released on $5,000 bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 37 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Gary J. Businelle III, 18, of the 300 block of South Bay Road in Pierre Part, was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Thursday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids second offense, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), and abuse of toxic vapors.
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the driver failed to signal a turn on Delmar Road. Detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids, Hebert said. There was also a 13-year-old juvenile in the vehicle at the time of the investigation. Businelle was jailed.
—Peter Grogan, 35, of the 300 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:51 p.m. Thursday on two warrants for unauthorized use of an access card as theft and forgery. Grogan was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from Morgan City Police Department where he was being held on other charges. The warrants stem from two investigations into purchases that were made with stolen checks and a stolen bank card at two stores in Bayou Vista in June and July 2013, Hebert said. No bail is set.
—Tammy Hull, 53, of the 100 block of Bernard Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Thursday for illegal possession of stolen things and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding. A deputy investigating a complaint of a stolen license plate located the plate on a vehicle belonging to Hull. Hull was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Anthony L. Watson, 39, of the 1600 block of Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:37 a.m. today for DWI first offense, driving left of center, expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, expired license plate and no proof of insurance. Watson was jailed awaiting bail to be set.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
