Woman accused of attacking juvenile

A 25-year-old Morgan City woman was charged Wednesday after she was accused of physically attacking a girl, Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. said in a news release.
—Alyssa L. Ashmore, 25, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of simple battery of a juvenile and disturbing the peace second offense.
Officers received a complaint of a fight near the intersection of Federal Avenue and Aucoin Street. Officers learned from witnesses that Ashmore approached several female juveniles in the area and physically attacked one of the female juveniles, Griffin said.
Officers learned Ashmore left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Another patrol officer located a vehicle matching the description provided and located Ashmore, Griffin said. Ashmore was questioned regarding the incident, but denied any involvement, Griffin said. Officers were able to obtain video footage which recorded the attack. Ashmore was jailed and released on cash bail.
Griffin reported the following arrests:
—Tyroy T. Charles, 21, of Leona Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine.
Charles turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department investigators and was booked on an outstanding warrant in relation to an operation began by the Morgan City Police Department March 27.
“Operation April Fool” investigated the street level sales of various narcotics in the Morgan City area and through that investigation, suspects were identified and warrants obtained. Charles was jailed with bail set at $100,000.
—Bonnie V. Dupre, 26, of Arenz Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging her with bank fraud.
Dupre was located at a bank and arrested on a warrant based on a police investigation which began March 6. In that complaint, Dupre is accused of making fraudulent deposits totaling $2,400 into an account and making purchases on those funds. Dupre was jailed.
—Warren P. Guidry, 34, of Houma, was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday on a Lafourche Parish warrant charging him with simple battery, a St. Mary Parish warrant charging him with theft less than $500 and a Terrebonne Parish warrant for failure to appear.
Guidry was located at a La. 182 motel and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for several agencies. He was jailed.
—Monica Charles, 36, of Live Oak Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. today on the charge of theft-value $14.29.
Officers dispatched to Waffle House on La. 182 learned that Charles had ordered and consumed food, then left the premises without paying for the items. Charles was located and advised officers that she did indeed leave without paying for the items. She was jailed.
—Tina Vincent, 46, of Lakeview Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. today on a warrant charging her with second degree battery.
Vincent was located on La. 182 in Morgan City and placed under arrest on a warrant filed in regard to an altercation which was reported March 15. In that incident, Vincent is accused of committing a battery on another woman, which required medical treatment, Griffin said. She was jailed
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 44 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Owen Plaisance, 49, of the 500 block of Clark Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday on the charge of simple battery.
A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista.
During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Plaisance slapped a woman in the face during an argument, Hebert said. Plaisance was jailed and released on $500 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
