’Jills win in overtime

The Patterson Lumberjills defeated Franklin 64-61 in overtime Friday in District 9-3A action.
While Patterson was edged in scoring in the first three quarters and trailed 36-32 heading into the fourth quarter, the squad rallied in the fourth quarter with a 22-16 scoring advantage to tie the game at 55.
In overtime, Patterson edged Franklin 9-6.
Jazmin Evans led Patterson with 24 points, while Nakia Brooks had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Other top contributors included Galen Grogan, six points and 14 rebounds; Erykah Singleton, six points and 10 rebounds; Jamiri Brown, nine points; and Nyla Holder, three points.
Patterson (7-12 overall, 2-0 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it steps out of district for a 6:30 p.m. contest at home against Centerville.
Morgan City beats
Madison Prep
Morgan City defeated Madison Prep, 31-27, in non-district action Friday in Baton Rouge.
The Lady Tigers were led by Casey Chenevert’s 12 points, while Kaylyn Washington scored 11.
Morgan City (12-5 overall, 1-1 in district) will resume District 7-4A action Tuesday when it hosts Ellender in a 6 p.m. contest.
Central Catholic blasts
Ascension Episcopal
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles continued to cruise through the regular season with a 64-24 win in District 7-1A action against Ascension Episcopal at home Friday.
Central Catholic jumped out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 42-15 at halftime and 60-23 after three quarters.
Randi Brown led the Lady Eagles with 24 points and added nine steals, seven assists and eight rebounds, while Megan Landry had 18 points, one steal, one assist and five rebounds.
Other top contributors included Meo Knight, nine points, one block, eight steals, four assists and four rebounds; Gee Garrett, four points, three blocks, one steal, one assist and one rebound; Hallie Autin, six points and one rebound; and Taylor Picou, three points and one rebound.
Central Catholic (17-2 overall, 5-0 in district) will look to win its 10th straight when it hits the road tonight to face Lafayette Christian in District 7-1A play. Tipoff is set for 6 o’clock.
Berwick falls to
E.D. White
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to E.D. White 65-7 in District 9-3A action in Thibodaux Friday.
The Lady Panthers fell behind 19-4 after the first quarter and were held scoreless in the second and third quarters.
Brittany Boudreaux scored all seven of Berwick’s points.
The Lady Panthers (2-16, 0-2) will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Franklin for a 6 p.m. district contest.
