CCHS Lady Eagles fall to No. 2 Vermilion Catholic

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell to Vermilion Catholic 56-24 in District 7-1A action Tuesday.
Vermilion Catholic, which entered the game ranked No. 2 in the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings, took a 17-15 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 30-10 at the half and 39-13 after three quarters.
Hallie Autin led the Lady Eagles with eight points, while Hanna McCue had six points.
Other scorers for Central Catholic included Sydney Williams with four points; Emma Aucoin, three; Taylor Picou, two; and Lexi Landry, one.
Central Catholic (5-18 overall, 2-7 in district) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Hanson Memorial in a 6 p.m. contest.
Berwick falls to E.D. White
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to E.D. White, 54-11, in District 9-3A action in Thibodaux Tuesday.
While Berwick was held scoreless in the first half as E.D. White jumped out to a 16-0 first quarter lead and led 38-0 at the half, the Lady Panthers scored six points in the third quarter and five in the fourth for the final margin.
Brittany Boudreaux led Berwick with four points; Nicole Johnson, three; and Mickenzie Reed and Shelvy Ruffin, two points each.
Berwick (0-16, 0-5) will return to action Friday when it travels to Franklin.
Patterson falls to Franklin
The Patterson Lumberjills dropped a 56-49 contest to Franklin on the road in District 9-3A action Tuesday.
No individual statistics were available.
Patterson (15-10, 3-3) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Riverside Academy in a nondistrict contest.
