CCHS softball beats Ellender

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles overcame a 2-0 deficit for a narrow 3-2 victory at Ellender Monday.
While Ellender plated a run apiece in the bottom of the first and third innings, Central Catholic got on the board late with a run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh.
Central Catholic held Ellender off the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
Megan Landry earned the win for Central Catholic. In seven innings, she surrendered two runs — one earned — on seven hits with a walk and fanned six.
Landry also led the Lady Eagles at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance with an RBI, while Brittany Longman finished 2-for-4; Kimberly Russo, 1-for-3, a double and a run; and Brooke Lipari, 1-for-4, an RBI.
Central Catholic (9-2 overall, 2-0 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face Vermilion Catholic in District 7-1A action. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
