E.D. White routed Berwick, 16-2, in District 8-3A softball action in Berwick Wednesday.
While Berwick had its deficit at 4-2 after three innings, E.D. White scored three runs in the fourth for a 7-2 advantage before erupting for nine runs in the top of the seventh.
Berwick was outhit 12-8, by E.D. White, ranked No. 10 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A power rankings.
The Lady Panthers, ranked No. 13 in Class 3A, also committed eight errors.
Jordan Lipari suffered the loss. In three innings, she surrendered four runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Offensively, Madison Carline led Berwick with a 3-for-4 performance with a double and an RBI. Other top contributors included Jaci Arnold, 2-for-4, two doubles and a run; Madeleine Hover, 1-for-3, a double and a run; and Madelyn Gros, 1-for-3, an RBI.
Berwick (6-9 overall, 2-2 in district) will return to action Saturday when it travels to face North Vermilion, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

Vermilion Catholic
Vermilion Catholic defeated Central Catholic, 8-4, in District 7-1A action on the road Wednesday.
While Central Catholic took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, it was its only lead of the game as Vermilion Catholic responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame and two more in the second for a 6-2 lead.
Central Catholic cut its deficit to 6-4 in the top of the third, but Vermilion Catholic added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings for the final margin.
Central Catholic outhit Vermilion Catholic 10-9.
Hallie Autin led Central Catholic with a 2-for-3 performance with a triple, two RBIs, a stolen base and a run. Other top contributors included Kelly Russo, 2-for-4, an RBI; Kaleigh Navarro, 2-for-4; and Taylor Picou, 1-for-3, a double and two runs.
Sarah Thomas suffered the loss. In a complete-game effort, she surrendered six earned runs on nine hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Central Catholic (9-9, 5-3) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face Highland Baptist in a 5:30 p.m. District 7-1A contest.
