Erath uses big third quarte to top Berwick, 59-37

Erath used a big third quarter to pull away from Berwick for a 59-37 District 8-3A girls' basketball win in Berwick Tuesday.
Leading 31-20 at halftime, Erath outscored Berwick, 22-11, in the third for a 53-31 after three quarters. Each team scores six points in the fourth quarter.
Erath led 12-6 after a quarter and outscored Berwick, 19-14, in the second period.
Madison Carline led Berwick with 15 points. Other Berwick scorers included Mary Jordan Melancon and Maci Broussard with nine points each, and Jordan Lipari and Sydney Aucoin with two each.
Berwick will return to action when it travels to face Patterson Friday in district play.
South Lafourche eases

South Lafourche rolled past Morgan City, 62-25, in District 7-4A action in Galliano Tuesday.
Alisha Singleton led Morgan City with eight points. Other Morgan City scorers included Nia Lightfoot and Deryon Johnson, five each; Sh’Diamond Holly, four; Indeara Chenevert, two; and Twanna LeBeau, one.
Morgan City will return to action Friday when it hosts Ellender in district play.
CCHS falls
to Centerville
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell to Centerville, 41-38, in District 7-1A action in Centerville Tuesday.
While Central Catholic outscored Centerville, 15-10, in the first quarter, Centerville took a 24-21 lead at halftime and led 30-27 after three quarters.
No individual Central Catholic statistics were available.
Central Catholic will return to action Friday when it hosts Highland Baptist in district play.
Patterson falls
to Kaplan
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to Kaplan, 32-25, in District 8-3A action in Patterson.
