Halimar Shipyard defeats Frank’s Agency, 11-7

Halimar Shipyard overcame six errors and six walks en route to an 11-7 victory against Frank’s Agency in Swampland League action Wednesday.
Of the seven runs Halimar (Central Catholic) surrendered, just three were earned.
Halimar jumped out to a 6-0 lead by the third inning, plating two runs in the first, three in the second and another in the third.
Frank’s Agency (Patterson) cut the lead in half with three runs in the bottom of the fourth before Halimar responded in the top of the fifth with four runs for a 10-3 advantage.
Frank’s Agency scored the game’s final three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Halimar outhit Frank’s Agency 10-5 in the contest.
Stefano Guarisco led Halimar with a 3-for-3 performance with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs.
Other top contributors included Samuel Guarisco, 2-for-4, two RBIs, a stolen base and three runs; Mitchell Lemoine, 2-for-4, an RBI; Matthew Barbier, 1-for-3, an RBI, three stolen bases and three runs; Charlie Barron, 1-for-4, an RBI and two stolen bases; Tony Pennison, 1-for-3, a run; and T.J. Ruffin, three RBIs.
Samarick Paul earned the win for Halimar. In five innings, he surrendered six runs — three earned — on three hits with four walks and fanned three.
Blake Hidalgo tossed two innings of relief and surrendered an unearned run on two hits with two walks and fanned one.
For Frank’s Agency, Joel Singleton had two hits, while Kenny Singleton Jr. had a double. Brennan Gouaux, Cameron Navarro and Bryce Beaubouef each had a hit.
Beaubouef suffered the loss for Frank’s Agency.
Frank’s Agency will be in action today when it travels to face Reeco Rental and Supply (Thibodaux). Junior varsity is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Halimar (8-2) will return to action today when it hosts Taco Bell (Berwick). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Skipper’s Sporting Goods run-rules the Mustangs
Morgan City High-based Skipper’s Sporting Goods run-ruled the Mustangs (Assumption High) 14-2 in six innings in Morgan City Wednesday.
The game ended on Skippers’ Matt Lorenzo’s walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lorenzo finished the contest 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
Other offensive contributors included Brady Fryou, 2-for-4, two RBIs; Abram Hartley, 2-for-3; Alex Brocato and Ethan Scioneaux, each 1-for-1 with an RBI; and Scotty Comeaux, 1-for-3.
Rhett Fryou earned the win for Skipper’s. In six innings, he surrendered two earned runs on five hits with two walks and fanned two.
Skipper’s Sporting Goods will return to action today when it hosts Robichaux Ford (Vandebilt Catholic). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Taco Bell falls at
the Braves
The Braves (H.L. Bourgeois) plated all its runs in the fifth and sixth innings en route to a 4-1 win at home against Taco Bell (Berwick) in Swampland League action Wednesday.
Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Braves plated two runs in the fifth via walks and a wild pitch.
In the sixth, it added two unearned runs.
Taco Bell scored its lone run in the top of the first inning on an RBI by Neal Theriot Jr.
Theriot finished 1-for-2, along with Justin Morvant and Tanner Caldwell.
Brandon Fryou suffered the loss for Taco Bell. In five innings, he surrendered no hits on two earned runs and five walks.
In junior varsity action, Taco Bell defeated the Braves 6-0.
Ian Valdez led Taco Bell with a 1-for-1 performance with a double and two RBIs, while Kyle Pitre, Ryan Hover, Ty Duthu, Kyle Boudreaux, Lucas Hatch and Abram Gilder all finished 1-for-2.
Grant Oubre earned the win on the mound.
Taco Bell will return to action today when it travels to Amelia to face Halimar Shipyard.
