Staff Report

A Virginia prep soccer player with area ties signed with LSU earlier this month.
Elinor “Ellie” Weber, daughter of Morgan City native Geno Weber and his wife Tina, signed her national letter of intent Feb. 2.
Weber, who lives in Springfield, Virginia, and attends Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia, moved from New Orleans when she was six years old. However, she always has considered Louisiana her home and has wanted to return to Louisiana to compete at LSU, according to her mother, Tina Weber.
Ellie Weber, a defender who will serve as her high school team’s captain this season, was a second-team all-state selection as well as a first-team all-conference and first-team all-region selection as a junior in 2015.
She also played club soccer for Prince William Soccer Inc. as a forward and defender. She helped lead her club team to back-to-back National Premier League team championships in Virginia in 2014 and 2015.
