Youth hunter makes most of final chance for spring turkey

Elizabeth Lafleur woke up startled when her father, Chad Lafleur, gently shook her saying, “Hey, Lizzie, there’s a turkey out there waiting for us. We need to get up and get ready.”

Still time left this month to hunt swamp rabbits

This past weekend, my son, grandson and I decided to do a little briar patch high stepping for swamp rabbits along some canal banks in the marsh.

When is the right time to let a child start hunting?

Raising three boys, I’ve been around a lot of youth-hunters over the years, especially when you also consider nieces, nephews and my buddies’ kids.
