Moore-Verret wed Dec. 27 in double-ring ceremony

Heather Leigh Moore and Matthew Michael Verret were united in matrimony during a 2 p.m. Dec. 27 double-ring ceremony at the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle in Jackson, Mississippi. The Rev. Anthony Quyet officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Samuel Wesley Moore Jr., of Jackson, Mississippi, and the late Samuel Moore Jr. Randy and Debra Verret, of Patterson, are parents of the groom.
For the ceremony, pink poinsettia arrangements adorned the front altar and two red floral sprays were on the two back altars. A dozen silver pew markers filled with red roses, mint juleps and cascading floral were tied with gold ribbon. Greenery adorned the outdoor railings of the church.
Music was by organist James Scoggins, trumpeter Wayne Linehan and soloist Angel Azzarra.
Escorted in marriage by her brother Christopher Wesley Moore, the bride was attired in a designer gown of white satin. The sweetheart bodice was cinched at the natural waist with a band of rhinestones. Swarovski crystals and pearls lead down to the box-pleated full skirt that buttoned all the way to the chapel-length train.
Her custom royal-cathedral veil was double-tiered with scattered freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.
She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea, Eskimo roses and vendella roses tied with ivory ribbon. Tied with ribbons to the bouquet was a rosary belonging to the groom’s late sister, Beth Verret, and the wedding ring of the bride’s father.
Traci Blair Strickland was matron of honor and Angelica Rose Gorman was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Plum Hardin, Katrina Faye James, Kelly Elizabeth Jarvis, Anna Marsh Selby, Mary Caroline Wallace and Lindy Lewis West.
They were attired in designer gowns of floor-length luminescent purple taffeta with a keyhole back and A-line skirt.
Each attendant carried a bouquet of red roses and berries, dusty miller and hanging amaranthus tied in gold ribbon.
Avery Elizabeth Bell was flower girl. Ringbearer was Andrew Davis Strickland.
The groom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Jacob John Verret, brother of the groom, John Richard Darce Jr., Brandon Lee Barnes, Lance Joseph Champagne, Jack Nickolas Dakota Bodree, Brett Tanner Hightower, Jeremy Dean Desoto and Charles Michael Herrin Jr.
Ushers were J.D. “Jake” Bell III, William Harrison Jones and Carter Blair Strickland.
A reception followed at the Fairview Inn in Jackson, Mississippi. Decorations included greenery and Christmas trees, and outdoor red velvet bows. Two red floral arrangements with greenery adorned food tables. Guest tables held clear glass vases with submerged roses and floating candles.
The bride’s cake was a four-tiered confection with red roses placed on top and down the sides.
The groom’s mother created the LSU-themed groom’s cake complete with the tiger-eye football field logo.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at the King Edward Hilton Garden Inn in Jackson, Mississippi. Tables were adorned with greenery tied in purple and gold ribbon. Centerpieces of purple and gold round ornaments stacked inside vases had clear lights running between them. Tigers were affixed to purple wooden plaques to signify table numbers.
The bride is a 2002 Alpha Omega graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting from Mississippi College. She is employed at Haddox Reid Eubank Betts PLLC in Jackson, Mississippi.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Patterson High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2002 at LSU and a 2003 master’s degree in Sports Administration from Mississippi State University. He is head athletic trainer at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.
They honeymooned in Saint Lucia and reside in Clinton, Mississippi.
