Earth Day celebration today

Bayou Vista Garden Club Environmental Awareness Chairman Kim Alcina places signs along Southeast Boulevard to promote community awareness of Earth Day. Earth Day, today, was founded by the late Sen. Gaylord Nelson in 1970 to promote ecology and awareness of the Earth’s environment. Bayou Vista Garden Club encourages gardeners to “go native” and use plants that grow naturally in the area.
