Marshall is Patterson Garden Club April speaker

Patterson Garden Club held its monthly meeting on April 7 at the home of Iris Roy. Hostesses were Ginger Griffin and Rosa Butler.
President Sandra Marshall called the meeting to order and presented the program titled “Chrysanthemums for Everyone.” The group learned about the variations of chrysanthemums and its history.
Arbor Day Committee Chairman Ginger Griffin gave an update on the progress being made to update trees and markers from prior plantings. She also advised the members about the recent door decorating contest held at Hattie Watts Elementary.
The election of officers for the next term was held. New officers are President Juanita Bienvenu, Vice President Evelyn Estay, Treasurer Iris Roy and Secretary Sandra Larson. An initiation of officers will be held at the May meeting.
Yard of the Month recipients for March were Floyd and Emma Estay, and Doug and Valerie Streety. The winner of the half-and-half drawing at the end of the meeting was Linda Thomas.
