Sheriff: Body found near Berwick boat landing; foul play not suspected

The body of a 44-year-old Arkansas man was discovered Monday morning near a boat landing in Berwick. Foul play isn't suspected, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office news release.
At 10:18 a.m. Monday, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received information that bystanders located a body in the Intracoastal Waterway near the boat landing in Berwick, the release said. The deceased was identified as Michael C Proctor, 44, of Arkansas. Proctor was reported missing from Piggott, Arkansas on Nov. 20.
No foul play is suspected at this point in the investigation, the release said. As per St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office procedure, an investigation is underway. Additional details are pending the outcome of the coroner’s autopsy report, the release said.
