‘A Community A-Fair’ kicking off Thursday

Carnival time starts Thursday as Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church presents “A Community A-Fair” on Teche Drive.
The opening ceremony is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and dedicated to all special needs persons.
On Friday at 5 p.m. family night begins with food, games and music.
Saturday, youth day begins at 10 a.m. with a tug of war, sack race, obstacle course and more. At 2 p.m. gospel rap artist Corey Wayne of Baton Rouge will perform. Local pastors are expected to “step” with Wayne to his song “Frontline.”
Sunday’s 2 p.m. startup includes more food, games and gospel performances. Bingo will be played through the carnival with prizes awarded to the winners.

A 32-inch flat screen television will be given away to someone within the first 300 ticket purchasers. Must be present Sunday at 4:30 p.m. to win.
