‘Battle of the Paddles’ Saturday

Hanson Memorial High School invites everyone to the Fifth Annual Tail-Gator Food Fest and Battle of the Paddles.
Aside from offering the opportunity to sample the best of these two Louisiana staples, gumbo and jambalaya, there will be carnival games, horseshoe pitching tournament, and, of course, plenty of toe tapping music while the cooking teams “battle with their paddles” for the honor of top chef.
This years’ event will be held in conjunction with the Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival and the Bayou Teche Wooden Boat Show on Friday and Saturday along Bayou Teche on Teche Drive.
Activities begin Friday at 6 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.
The cooking teams begin preparing their cuisine at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.
