‘Peace Gala’ set Nov. 16 at West St. Mary center

The Franklin City Court Third Ward Marshal’s Office, Magnolia State Peace officers and the newly formed St. Mary Parish Community Supporters will host their first Peace Gala to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The event will assist in continued research efforts for a possible cure for this dreaded disease. The gala will be held Nov. 16 at the West St. Mary Civic Center in Sorrell at 8 p.m. for a donation of $10 per guest.
The donation will provide hors d’oeuvres, drinks, music and entertainment of guests and attire is semi-formal/dressy.
Organizers are hoping this event will unite members of the community to celebrate those who have survived cancer and honor those who have not been as fortunate. Their objective is to make a noteworthy contribution to the American Cancer Society. In order to accomplish this goal, they are soliciting monetary support from businesses and organizations in the immediate and surrounding communities.
