4 Corners shooting under investigation

At 4:56 p.m. on Sunday deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting on Jones Road No. 2 in the Four Corners area of the parish.
Upon arrival, deputies reportedly located a 30-year-old male subject who had suffered a gunshot wound. Deputies secured the scene and the subject was transported to Lafayette General Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators later learned that a second male subject, 34, sought medical attention at Franklin Foundation Hospital, also having a suffered a gunshot wound. That subject was treated and released.
Sheriff Mark Hebert said the investigation is ongoing. The subject being treated in Lafayette remains in the hospital in stable condition.
