Candidate announcement: Steve F. Bierhorst
This campaign announcement was submitted by Steve F. Bierhorst, a candidate for the St. Mary Parish Council. The primary election is Oct. 24.
It is with a great sense of pride and enthusiasm that I announce my intention to seek re election to the St. Mary Parish Council, as your District 10 at large member.
Being active in community affairs is a serious matter to me, as I am a lifelong resident of St. Mary Parish which is a great place to live and raise a family. I am married to the former Josie Cremaldi of Patterson where we have resided for the last forty-five years. We have two children, Lee Bierhorst, a registered nurse, and Carmen Bierhorst LaGarde, assistant principal at Morgan City High School, and are blessed with four wonderful grandchildren. I retired after 42 years of service with Bellsouth and I am presently employed as the public works director for the city of Patterson.
Being active in my community is important to me as I am a member of the Patterson Volunteer Fire Department, St. Mary Parish Fire Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1710, Wedell-Williams Aviation & Cypress Sawmill Foundation, chairman of the Patterson Sawmill Festival, and member of St. Mary Chapter of AARP, to name a few.
My goals for the next four years will be to complete needed Hurricane protection levees and flood gates, support law enforcement, complete more sewer and road projects, promote economic growth, job creation and affordable housing, to name a few.
I have been very fortunate to have met so many wonderful people over the years in St. Mary Parish. I want each and every one of you to know that I will continue to serve you with the honesty, respect, and the dedication that you deserve, so that we can all be proud to call St. Mary Parish our home!
Please remember that everyone in At. Mary Parish can vote for 85 Steve F. Bierhorst on Oct. 24, 2015. Your vote and support will be appreciated.
