City makes ‘best places to retire’ list

Franklin ranks 10th in SmartAsset’s second annual study of the “Best Places to Retire in Louisiana.”
SmartAsset’s researchers looked at taxes, the number of doctors’ offices, recreation centers, retirement centers and the percentage of seniors in the population to create a best place to retire index. Franklin was not on the list last year.
“I’ve been saying for years that Franklin is a wonderful place to live, raise a family and retire,” Mayor Raymond Harris said. “Now, I have proof that Franklin is a great place to consider when planning for retirement.”
