Close Call

The Franklin Fire Department was dispatched to assist two electrical contractors that were trapped 80-feet in the air Tuesday at about 5 p.m. Chief Chuck Bourgeois said Brandon Sauce, 23, of Baldwin, and Jared Cowart, 28, of Franklin, were repairing the lighting at Caffery Park when the man-lift they were operating sank in the soft ground, trapping them against a light tower in one of the ball fields. Franklin Fire Department responded with its 107-foot aerial ladder. Captain Brent Prados and Firefighter/Operator Joshua Diaz assisted both men to safety. There were no injuries.
