Early voting totals almost 1,200 through Thursday
Through the third day of early voting for the Nov. 4 election, 1,199 St. Mary Parish voters have cast their ballots, according to Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe.
On Thursday, 384 people in the parish voted early with 175 votes cast in Franklin and 209 cast in Morgan City, according to the registrar of voters report.
As of Thursday, 632 Democrats have voted; 396 Republicans have voted; and 171 no party voters have cast ballots. A total of 854 white voters have cast ballots; 326 black voters have cast ballots; and 19 voters of other races have cast ballots. Five hundred seventy-eight men and 621 women have voted so far.
Early voting continues through Tuesday. Hours for early voting will be from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Voting is closed Sunday. Early voting is conducted at the registrar’s office on the third floor of the courthouse and at the registrar’s branch office in Morgan City at 301 Third St. Voters may cast ballots early in either office regardless of their addresses.
