FFH receives award for ER services

Franklin Foundation Hospital Emergency Department received two awards from the state wide Ocshner Telemedicine Stroke Program.
The TeleStroke Program is utilized when a patient admits to the emergency room and has the signs and symptoms of undergoing a stroke.
Foundation’s ER received a first place award for the fastest “Door-to-Needle” time for the administration of the IV tPA (clot buster) to a patient with an ischemic stroke, at 33 minutes, as well as receiving a second place award for 60 percent of their patients receiving IV tPA under the national goal of 60 minutes.
“We are very proud of our staff and the utilization of this TeleStroke program,” states Frank Corcoran, Chief Nursing Officer. “Both of these awards indicate that FFH is saving lives and long term effects with our patients. We ranked first and second state wide in this very important lifesaving step.”
FFH emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On an average, the ER sees over 1,000 patients a month.
FFH is a 22-bed acute care facility and also featuring: inpatient/outpatient surgery, obstetrics with nursery. intensive care unit, skilled nursing services, laboratory, outpatient therapy services, radiology services and nutritional services. Physician services are provided at the FFH Medical Office Building and Baldwin Family Clinic.
