First ‘Launch Party’ draws interest

Franklin Paddle Association held its first “Launch Party” Saturday on Parc sur la Teche in Franklin. Organizer Bobby Hines said about 30 participants showed up, and the Backpacker company brought in paddle craft for attendees to enjoy. Hines said he plans to continue organizing such events in an effort to promote the sport of paddling kayaks, canoes and other craft and promotion of Bayou Teche and the region.
