Hanson presenting ‘Earnest’ this week
Hanson Memorial High School’s Drama Club presents “The Importance of Being Earnest” this Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
The story is about two young gents who have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives. John Worthing has invented a brother, Earnest, whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull life behind to visit Gwendolyn.
Algernon Montcrieff decides to take the name Earnest when visiting Worthing’s young and beautiful ward, Cecily. Things start to go awry when they end up together in the country and their deceptions are discovered.
Opening night is Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Hanson Auditorium. There will be an additional performance Friday night at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
Tickets at the door are $3 for students and $5 for all other guests.
