Intersection to be closed for water, road work
The intersection of Railroad Avenue and Grizzaffi Street will be closed to all thru traffic Tuesday due to water and road work, according to a city news release.
City workers are fixing a section of road on Grizzaffi Street along with a 16-inch water line that needs to be changed out, Morgan City Mayor Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi said.
Water valve testing is continuing in the city in an effort to improve water quality, the release stated. The testing intervals can last from five to 30 minutes in certain areas being without water. In the case of a water line break, the outage may last up to two hours, the release stated.
Testing begins at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m. on weekdays. In areas where schools are located, testing will be done on weekends, the news release stated.
Businesses will be informed a day prior the scheduled work area, the release said.
