'Live from Nashville' here on Thursday

“Live from Nashville” will be presented Thursday in Morgan City by the Community Concert Association.
The continued rise of “Nashville” in popular culture has inspired Matt Davenport Productions to create a new touring production, according to a Live On Stage news release. “Live from Nashville” celebrates the many faces of “Music City” in the last century.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling 985-385-2307. Adult season ticket price is $45 and students (K-12) price is $10.
This is also a good time to sign up for the 2015-16 Community Concert season.
The price remains $45 per season for adults and students K-12 are only $10, according to association member Geri Bourgeois. The price is made possible by “a generous donation by the Young Fund,” she said.
Subscriptions are also available in a Patron plan. It includes, Bronze Patron (4 tickets), $150; Silver Patron (10 tickets), $350 and Gold Patron (20 tickets), $600.
Executive Producer Davenport began his career at the famed Nashville attraction “Opryland USA.” Acclaim for MDP’s ability to combine Broadway sensibility with Nashville fashion and music trends has established the company as a leader in the genre, including “Best Show in the Smokies” (Country Tonite, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee) and “Best of the Beach” (American Pride Show, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina), the news release stated.
The firm also achieved international notoriety for its production of “Wild Country” at Hersheypark (Pennsylvania), which was twice honored as a finalist for “Show of the Year” by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. MDP has previously toured a variety of successful tours, including “American Rhapsody,” “American Big Band,” and “Back on Broadway.”
The Community Concert Association was formed in 1947 and continues to bring entertainment to the Tri-City area as well as the rest of St. Mary and surrounding parishes.
