Pelican begins
Patterson pickups
Pelican Waste & Debris began picking up residential garbage today in Patterson, according to a news release.
On the first pickup of the week, Pelican Waste will empty trashcans belonging to Progressive Waste Solutions. However, after that can is emptied, it is to be left on the side of the road for Progressive Waste to pick up. After this week, Pelican will only pick up their blue garbage cans. No other cans will be picked up.
Arrangements and charges for additional cans will be made available through the City of Patterson starting Nov. 16 by calling the Patterson City Hall at 985-395-5205.

Berwick to shut off
gas for repairs
The town of Berwick will shut off gas service for several hours Tuesday to make repairs to its gas distribution system, according to a news release.
The repairs will require that service to be closed beginning at about 11 a.m. Tuesday for four to five hours Tuesday, the release said. The affected areas include Renwick Subdivision, Willowcrest Subdivision, Techeview Subdivision, Country Club Subdivision, Cameron Iron Works, Fairview Drive/Old Spanish Trail, Berwick Junior High School, Berwick High School, all trailer parks on La. 182 and all businesses south of La. 182.
