Local briefs: Patterson tree-lighting, football contest winner

Patterson will
light tree Nov. 29
The city of Patterson will host its annual lighting of the Christmas tree 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at Patterson City Hall.
The City Hall building is located on 1314 Main St.
Music will be provided by First Baptist Church of Patterson and Mamie Winters.
Winters is the 2015 winner of KMAR’s fourth annual Country Showdown. She won the KQKI Country Showdown in 2014.
Santa will be present. All attendees are welcome to take pictures with him.
Refreshments will be available.

Vicknair wins
football contest
Russell J. Vicknair of Morgan City was the winner in last week’s Daily Review football prediction contest.
Vicknair was one of three people who called nine of 12 games correctly. He came closest to predicting the 24-7 Kaplan-Brusly tiebreaker score.
Nicholas Longman, also of Morgan City, won second prize.
