Local communities ready to light Christmas lights

Morgan City and Berwick will hold their Christmas lighting ceremonies at 6 p.m. Thursday, while Patterson will light its tree at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Morgan City’s lighting will be held at the Spirit of Morgan City shrimp boat in the median of Brashear Avenue, while Berwick’s lighting will be at Berwick Town Hall. In Morgan City, a child will turn on the lights, and, in Berwick, Santa will turn the lights on.
Morgan City’s event will also include music and a visit from Santa.
The city of Patterson will host its annual lighting of the Christmas tree at 5 p.m. Sunday at Patterson City Hall. Music will be provided by First Baptist Church of Patterson and Mamie Winters. Santa will be present. All attendees are welcome to take pictures with him.
