Over the last few days the City of Franklin has received several concerned calls and Facebook messages from residents about their water.
Residents can rest assured that Franklin’s water supply is safe to use and to drink, city officials say.
“The discoloration is due to stagnation,” Mayor Raymond Harris Jr. said. “The locks in Calumet were opened to allow the water to move; however, the tide worked against us Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now, the tide is working with us, and the water is starting to move. Additionally, we are flushing hydrants to help the water to move. We are hoping the problem will correct itself over the next few days.”
