Millage rates, amended budget adoptions on council agenda

The Morgan City Council is scheduled to adopt ordinances for its 2015 millage rates and adopt the city’s 2014 amended budget tonight. The Morgan City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today at the City Court Building.
The millage rates up for adoption total 17.88 mills on the dollar on the roughly $119 million worth of property in the city.
Guests on the agenda in-clude Bishop Jerry Hebert of World Mission Free Tennis Camp, Woodrow Parker of Aqua Safety First Community Program, Don Tellman, Donna Meyer and Bob Harrison of the Bayou BBQ Bash, the South Louisiana Jeep Association and VFW Buddy Poppy Drive.
The council will hear the insurance committee’s rec-ommendations for a health insurance servicing agent and health insurance renew-al. Resolutions to declare surplus vehicles, authorize signature of the La. 70 drainage project, for a bid tabulation on the Federal/Bowman Lift Station, an agreement with QD Rentals to possibly put an ice machine at Lake End Park and for Fair Housing Month are also on the agenda.
