Morgan City graduate earns divinity degree

NEW ORLEANS — Lena Turner of Morgan City has received the Master of Divinity degree with a specialization in counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is the daughter of John and Shirley Pittman and is married to Wilbert Turner.
Turner’s home church is Calvary Christian Fellowship Church, where her husband, is the pastor. She serves as a Sunday school teacher and praise and worship leader.
Turner holds the Bachelor of Arts in Christian ministry from Leavell College in New Orleans and an associate’s degree in general business from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. She is a 1984 graduate of Morgan City High School.
Turner is currently employed by Start Corporation in Houma and works as a community support specialist in Terrebonne Parish.
She is working on becoming a licensed professional counselor.
