Morgan City man charged with video voyeurism

A 36-year-old Morgan City man was charged with video voyeurism Thursday after allegedly taking pictures of a woman with a cellphone, Morgan City Police James Blair said in a news release.
—Chad Carmouche, 36, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:28 p.m. Thursday on warrants charging him with video voyeurism obstruction of justice, failure to appear for first-offense driving while intoxicated and failure to appear for criminal neglect of family.
Carmouche was arrested after detectives conducted a search warrant of his home. Carmouche is alleged to have used a cellphone to take photos of a woman on multiple occasions, police said.
Carmouche was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and jailed. The investigation into the case is still ongoing, police said.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Kumaravel Nadar, 45, of La. 70 in Morgan City, at 11:37 a.m. Thursday on the charges of improper lighting, driving under suspension and no insurance.
An officer patrolling the area of Victor II Boulevard observed a vehicle with no brake lights. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Nadar, who had a suspended driver’s license and uninsured vehicle, Blair said. Nadar was jailed.
—Micah Soileau, 18, of Joey Street in Patterson, at 7 p.m. Thursday on warrants charging him with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.
Soileau was already incarcerated at the Morgan City jail when he was booked on the warrants. The warrants stems from an investigation into a vehicle burglary in which a bag with a laptop computer and cash was stolen, Blair said.
—Joni Madison, 35, of Sydney Jo Lane in Berwick, at 7 p.m. Thursday on the charge of probation violation. Madison was arrested on City Court warrants for failing to comply with her probation. Madison was jailed.
—Cindy Sanders, 44, of Tall Timbers Drive in Patterson, at 9:05 p.m. Thursday on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
—Christine Cantrell, 28, of La. 182 in Morgan City, at 9:05 p.m. Thursday on the charges of disturbing the peace by fighting, resisting an officer, possession of cocaine and entering contraband into a penal institution.
Officers were called to a lounge on Victor II Boulevard due to a fight. Upon arrival they learned that a fight took place between two women identified as Cantrell and Sanders. Officers spoke with both women, who admitted that they were involved in a fight.
Officer placed both subjects under arrest at which time Cantrell began to attempt to pull away from officers attempting to place her in handcuffs. After being transported to the Morgan City Police Department, Cantrell was found to have suspected cocaine in her clothing.
Sanders was found to have warrants from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Both were jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 36 complaints and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—A juvenile male, 16, of Bayou Vista, at 4:33 p.m. Thursday on the charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. A deputy investigating a complaint of a possible residential burglary discovered that the juvenile entered an inhabited residence on Mercury Road in Bayou Vista without the owner’s permission.
The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
