Multiple agencies search for Capital One robber

Franklin Police received a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Capital One Bank branch on Northwest Boulevard Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the bank’s Northwest Boulevard location but the suspect had fled the area.
Franklin police, assisted by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Morgan City Police Department, Chitimacha Tribal Police Department and Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators, along with the Iberia Parish K-9 Unit, conducted a grid search of the area for the suspect and locked down a number of businesses in the area as a precautionary measure.
The suspect was reported to be a black male of medium build, approximately 6 feet 1 or 2 inches tall. Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the suspect is believed to be around the age of 25 to 30 with light brown eyes. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie with black pants. He had on black shoes with white socks and was wearing black cloth top gloves on his hands.
The suspect was also wearing a neoprene mask with cut outs for the eyes and mouth. He carried a black bag with white writing and gray drawstrings. He is believed to be carrying a large frame semi-automatic gun. The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous.
